The basic effect is that a borrowed is linked onto a rubber band in the fairest possible manner. Depending on your presentation, you can actually get the spectator to break the band in order to get the ring off if you wish. There are many methods whereby a rubber band can be shown to be linked onto a ring. However, in this method, nothing is concealed at all, the ring can be seen freely spinning on the band and the band is not doubled up in any way. The spectator can even slide the ring up and down the band...
...It can be done seated, standing, or in a walk around situation. It has a devastating effect on people, and spectators will remember this trick for a long time because you used their own property which gives it personalized impact. It is well worth the time and effort to master.
